I’m so busy carefully watching where I put my feet to try and prevent ending up on my backside on the icy ground that in no time my feet feel like they are encased in blocks of ice.

It’s something I’ve supported for quite a number of years now but, like many people I suppose, I never got round to actually registering. But without the people who donate blood I wouldn’t have been able to have an aortic valve replacement and so wouldn’t be alive to write this.
